I cannot believe how long they are closing the path for, and right in the middle of the season. I tried riding Riverside in rush hour. Once. I don’t really want to do that again. It’s not just the traffic volume, it’s the drivers who forget to check their starboard mirrors to see if there are cyclists along the curb and/or end up crowding the curb lane so you can’t get by. The area along the curb was full of debris as well, so it was a big non-pleasure.
Yeah what a waste. A few minor repairs and use the money to build new paths…And closed all summer. Can we all say DUH !!!

Riverside Drive Bike Lane through Vincent Massey to Hogs Back is CLOSED. I have hounded Councillor Maria McRae and the NCC to provide temporary access while this 7 month construction project is done. They don’t cycle so they don’t understand why we cyclists don’t want to ride on Riverside Drive or cross 4 lanes of uncontrolled traffic to the other side. Anyway, its not legal to ride on the sidewalk as suggested by Maria McRae. Call and write your city council member to complain. The NCC Contact is Jean-François Trépanier (email below). Send him and River Ward Councillor Maria McRae an email and complain.
